Our rigorous certification programme helps organisations demonstrate their commitment to responsible AI across six key areas. Certification is a mark of credibility, not a marketing badge.
Each pathway has its own standards, criteria, and assessment process. Organisations may apply for one or more pathways depending on their activities and priorities.
Foundational standards covering the ethical principles that should govern AI development and deployment. Includes governance frameworks, accountability structures, and ethical review processes.
Standards for responsible data collection, storage, use, and sharing. Covers consent, provenance, data minimisation, and the responsible handling of sensitive information in AI systems.
Technical and operational standards for safe AI deployment. Covers risk assessment, testing, monitoring, incident response, and safeguards against harmful or unintended outputs.
Standards to identify and mitigate bias in AI systems. Covers equality impact assessment, diverse representation in development teams, and ongoing monitoring for discriminatory outcomes.
Standards for explainability and openness. Covers disclosure of AI use, model cards, audit trails, and the right of individuals to understand decisions made about them by AI systems.
Recognition for organisations pushing the frontier of responsible AI innovation. Covers research contribution, novel applications of ethical AI, and commitment to sharing learnings with the community.
A dedicated pathway for secondary schools building rigorous AI literacy, responsible AI understanding, and clearer pathways into future study and careers. Learn more about the programme.
