Three tiers designed to meet you where you are from individual practitioners to the organisations shaping the future of AI governance in Britain.
Each tier is designed with a clear purpose. We deliberately limit volume at the senior tiers to ensure membership always means something.
Membership is about belonging to the British AI Society community gaining access to events, networks, and publications. Certification is a formal assessment of your organisation's AI practices against our published standards. You can have one without the other, though many organisations pursue both.
Both individuals and organisations are welcome. Community Membership is open to individual practitioners, researchers, and leaders in the AI space. Accredited Membership and above is primarily designed for organisations, though exceptions may apply. Get in touch to discuss your situation.
Accredited Membership is open to organisations that can demonstrate a genuine commitment to responsible AI not just in policy, but in practice. We look at your governance, your processes, and your culture. We'll review your application and let you know if we need further information before a decision is made.
For Community Membership, registration is straightforward and can be completed quickly. For Accredited Membership, the process typically takes four to eight weeks from initial application to decision, depending on the complexity of your organisation's AI activities.
We provide honest, constructive feedback to all unsuccessful applicants. In many cases, organisations reapply successfully after addressing the areas we've highlighted. We see the process as a partnership, not a gatekeeping exercise.
Get in touch with our team to discuss which membership tier is right for you or your organisation.
